Video iPod

Will there be anything that an iPod won't be able to do?

Apple announced (not suprisingly) a video iPod today.

It's got a very high cool/geek factor, but will anybody really use it to watch videos other than maybe people who commute via mass transit?

Video iPod owners will be able to buy episodes of some popular shows (Desperate Houswives and Lost for example) the day after they are broadcast for $1.99. But don't most people who have to watch every episode already record it with Tivo or a VCR?

Maybe the water cooler effect will make it so that people who don't want to be left out must either watch it the night it is broadcast or download it to their iPods so they can watch it when they get to work.
